Classic Car - Pismo Beach & San Marino
We were very fortunate and lucky to be invited in Classic @ Pismo Beach. Since it was our 1st outdoor event in such setting, we weren’t sure how exactly we should prepare. Our space was limited so I packed all in my Prius and off I went.
I was simply a nervous wreck to enjoy the cars when we were invited to Rolls Royce event last year.
This time, I told myself to enjoy the Cars and atmosphere more and I did.
I was very fortunate to have my booth next to Branden’s family.
Branden & Jamie work for company called, “Just Swingin” and they have 4 beautiful Children and I had a great pleasure of meeting Madison, Cam, and David. Madison & Cam have learned a lot from their parents and were natural in sales. During our event, Madison & Cam worked me as assistant and sales while I was occasionally off to check out the cars.
This Volkswagen pick up bus was interesting.
Coming to the event in my Prius, I longed for a bigger car or truck for our future events, and this car seemed ideal both in size & “coolness”.
As a leather guy, I found car’s interior as exciting as the car itself.
Yes, there were some leather interiors made me puzzling, but also many that were excellently & elegantly applied.
There were all sorts of Classic American Cars from 1930s ~ 1960s and I find many of the owners quite fascinating. To them, they are not cars…rather it is their baby.
While engaging in conversation with many, I felt the true passion and love, and a little bit of pride since it is their own creation either by own hands or by design.
Regardless of Age & Ethnicity, they were just boys from old days.
& they all have gathered to participate in a charity.
There were many I saw for the 1st time and liked.
Among them, I found myself being in love with old Corvettes.
The lines & shape feel unique & elegant.
And I am counting the days to add this 57 Corvette to my own collection.
Shortly after coming home from Classic @ Pismo Beach, I found out there was another huge Classic car event in San Marino, CA.
It was a beautiful Sunday & i’ve decided to introduce the classic cars to my boys.
Unlike Classic @ Pismo Beach where the most of cars showing were American Classic, Classic Motor San Marino featured both American & European Classics.
My kids love anything that has to do with train… and my kids were on lookout for the train upon hearing that bell sound, only to find out it was an old classic with steam engine.
How cool is that?
Not only it was an old classic, but its seats (Leather sofa) drew me. The owner wasn’t available so I couldn’t find out, but that sofa had to be a custom work.
Or Is it a part of an original design?
Made in USA
There were so many European classic cars and seeing different types of old Porsche was quite special.
There were plenty of old Vintage Lamboghini & Ferraris.
& Lunch couldn’t come soon enough for the boys. After a few hours of walking in the Sun, they felt tired and I feel as though I took the fun out of them by constantly telling them “not to touch” the cars.
Classic Motor San Marino is a heaven for any car enthusiasts. From American to European Classic, it was a gathering of most exotic cars.
Yet, if I had a choice to go home with one car, it would have been this Classic Mercedes. It was just perfect from exterior and interior.
After attending a few shows, I began to understand why so many people are in love with Classic Car.
Not only it is beautiful, but having an entire history of acquiring the car, modifying the car, and finally driving the result adds an experience that is quite unique.
My friend, Douglas told me to be aware as Classic cars can easily become an expensive obsession & I can easily understand why as an outsider.
My response was that it would be a blessing to be in that position to start and it would be a healthy addiction.
They are simply too beautiful to resist!
