When Yona visited our Studio for the 1st time and showed me her husband’s briefcase, We had suggested that perhaps it was a time for its retirement and it would simply be best to give it a conditioning and keep it in their study.

She told me she would have loved the idea except that her husband simply refuse to part away from it. I had to laugh when she told me he was carrying it with broken handles just a few days ago… and it was such an ugly sight that she simply had to do something.

Apparently, this briefcase was his 1st briefcase upon graduating from school and it has been very kind to him over the years.

Upon hearing the story, I kind of felt for her husband… but this guy was in a very bad condition. I mean it had…..

We told Yona we would do it, but more we look at this bag…. less confident we became. Not only it had series of problems, but it was never conditioned (her words) that its leather & inside were so dry and fragile.

After numerous discussions, we’ve decided completely to take it apart and build new using the leather from the briefcase.

English Tan was Yona’s choice of color for replacing leather…… and just in time for her husband’s birthday, it was finished.

Yona was so happy to see the new look & I had told her it would be good for another 25 years (with a proper care).

Job wonderfully accomplished and we are proud of this one.
