Whiskey, Oakwood and Cigars Oh My!

We pick up inspiration everywhere, including interior spaces. Downtown LA's Seven Grand is kind of that dark, brooding male, the Casanova, the one that makes all the guys jealous and all the girls want him. The bar's a perfect retreat from the bustling streets of LA and an entryway into the good times, the old days where a glass of whiskey can whisk all your stress away. What we love the most is the woodsy vibe, the forest motif and the elegant furnishing and the vintage ambiance. Can't you just picture our Bourbon fit in there perfectly?

What Happened On 8th Street

Thank you Project Vegas for having Sandast! Talk about a fashion field day, the show made Paris Hilton's closet look like a tiny cubicle. Every brand from established 7 for All Mankind to up and coming Sandast (yay us!) primped up its booth for thousands of retailers, trendsetters and trendspotters from all over the world. We've received tons of praise, a few constructive criticism and some inspiration (see above for Fashion Snoops editor Lindsey's rockin vintage leather booties from France!) The general consensus--great craftmanship and material and beautiful designs. We couldn't ask for more!
Going back to the basics never hurt, so we've learned on this journey!
Til next time, Project!

Get Ready For Us
We at Sandast follow the motto "Work hard, play hard," steadfastly, so it was no surprise that our launch party was the ultimate celebration event!
Thank you to all those who contributed to the launch of our fabulous vintage line, and for those who couldn't make it, we'll recap on what you missed out on!

Denim on Camel

+

When Sandast heard that Chanel created a fall denim-inspired nail polish collection, we jumped at the opportunity to create a color board of shades of blue and camel. Something about camel makes the sky blue color become a statement piece all its own. We drool at the sight of the color combo, it's so chic, it's amazing that it's so easy to do the look. Try it!

Au Revoir Summer Days

Summer days are quickly coming to an end...it's time to put away those sheer crop tees, denim cut-offs and bejeweled sandals. What better way to give the season of tanned bodies and rooftop parties a proper farewell than with a tribute to our fave fashion blogger, Chiara Ferragni? Even though she's far away in Istanbul, her style resonates all the way to the U.S.A. She's the perfect summer fashion icon--making plain white tees or maxi dresses pop with attitude! We love her printed scarves, metallic items and big sunglasses. All she needs is a Sandast bag and she's good to go! Adieu sweet summer.

Au Natural

From Chloe to D&G, fresh faced beauties lined the Fall '11 catwalks. Hints of blush, neutral shades of beige, rosy lips, strong brows and a healthy glow defined the makeup look for the season, which kind of reminded us of our Sandast creations! In the buff, real, raw- whatever you would you like to call it, our pieces hail the au natural. Never made up, never fake - what you see is what you get.

Bold & Muted Makes A Perfect Pair
Silky sheaths, belted waists and bold colors make Roland Mouret's Fall 2011 RTW the collection every girl has got to have this season.
We love the hiphugging solid colored maxi dresses, perfect with a shoulder bag like our Vivian or Patricia.
Standout shades of color are the common theme in runways this fall and what better way to balance the extreme with the just-right neutral in Sandast?

Style Potpourri
We are absolutely floored by John Varvatos F/W 2011 RTW Men's collection. The potpourri of textures galore--suede, leather, tweed, wool, velvet--blends so effortlessly with its dark and muted color palette of black, burgundy, khaki and grey. Varvatos injects the cool factor back into the Western look, coordinating typical office wear staples into a chic slouchy fall get-up. Another reason we adore this collection? Varvatos' line is exhibit A on how to wear your Sandast bag, gentlemen. The vintage duffle bags were so perfectly accessorized for a number of looks on that runway, we couldn't have done it better. This is how mix and match should be done.

The Infamous "Murse"
Too many men are terrified of the male purse aka "murse," and we're genuinely confused! Why?! It's such a complementary accessory to a male's outfit as any other! Whatever stigma is attached to the "murse," we're here to eradicate it. Just look at the iconic SANDAST guys, David Beckham and Ashton Kutcher rockin' their messenger bag and backpack. The same rules apply as any fashion advice: key is to keep your look simple, add a statement murse and you have the SANDAST stamp of approval. If you're going to be carrying a canvas Jansport slingback anyway, might as well do it in stunning style, right? Take cue from these looks on our murse board!
