Hello Vintage

The ghoulish season has come around again and we are dying to share this hair tutorial from the fab ladies of The Beauty Department aka The Lauren Conrad Project. Beauty tutorials are even more retro with photo instructions, which is why we love the newcomer in beauty blogs. HUGE brownie points for featuring this vintage vixen hair tutorial to prep you to be the ultimate flapper. Anything old and antique is a Sandast thing, so mucho love from us!

Vintage Inspiration

We love these candids of real street style vintage fashion! International model Natalia Vodianova rocks a Victorian style frock by pairing it up with a mod chic bright fuschia stilettos. A prime example of present meets history. For all the men, follow fashion editor George Cortina's Southampton meets military look. A seemingly simple look with a subtle 'Top Gun' influence (Hello Aviators!), George C shows that guys can make the mono theme work just as well as women can.

What's your street style influence?

Black Blazer
photo: FabSugar

Black is a universally favorite color in most women's wardrobe, but when black comes as a fab-fitting blazer, it's like the heavens answered your body conscious prayers. A black blazer is an absolute must in your wardrobe and what makes it even better is that it looks good in almost any color. Rachel Bilson pairs her cropped number in a flowy maxi skirt with a satchel while Alexis Bledel channels edgy preppy with a beige silk blouse. We absolutely love Maggie Gyllenhaal for going boho chic with a flower print maxi dress and a sloutchy camel colored hobo. Most people associate black with hard, urban glam, but it can be softened up with a touch of neutral browns! Almost all of these looks can be dressed down with a Sandra, Anna, Vivian or Chelsea crossbody. Don't be afraid to make your black blazer outfit Sandast chic!

Polished & Grunge

This photo inspired us to rethink the possibility of mixing two very different elements--polished and grunge--to create something, well, pretty darn FABULOUS! We absolutely love the "good girl" mary janes with a dirtied vintage tote. Maybe mixing two extremes create the ultimate balance and a test to fashion.
See some polished looks below you can pull off with a Sandast piece. Like the Lea clutch or any of our crossbodies!

Sandast Hearts Andreas Wijk
"Blond Beauty" has never been more aptly suited for anyone other than Andreas Wijk.
A celebrity-status male fashion blogger from Sweden, Andreas could easily be the lovechild of Agyness Deyn and Justin Bieber (the similarities are uncanny!), which is the equivalent of an angel on earth *swoon*.
We are deciding whether we love the pompadour or his style more, but let's face it, his style kills any day. He's the poster child of Sandast...seriously.
How could someone mix preppy, rugged and urban so harmoniously? He can go from looking like a pop star to a vintage soldier with a quick change of wardrobe!
Andreas' looks are open to the public through lookbook.nu and we kind of went a little crazy going through his 169 looks, but that boy knows how to dress.
To toast our newfound love for Andreas, someone who totally gets the Sandast aesthetic, we made a collage of two looks we love. And one's perfect for Back to School!
